How to do the World’s Greatest Stretch

The World’s Greatest Stretch is a great movement to start your workout with.

It targets many muscles in a relatively short period of time–hip flexors, hamstrings, adductors, glutes, calves, quads, thoracic spine, chest, shoulders, lower back and obliques.

Here's how to do the World's Greatest Stretch

To do the World’s Greatest Stretch:

While in a standing upright position, keep your legs straight to begin with.

Lean down and touch your hands to the ground in front of you.

Gently crawl out on your hands until you’re in a pushup position.

Then do several pushups.

Kick one leg up to the outside of your hand.

Touch your elbow to your standing arm and then rotate it up as much as you can.

Exhale as you rotate.

Switch arms and repeat on the other side.

Then switch legs and kick the leg up to the outside of your other hand.

Touch your elbow to your standing arm and then rotate it up as much as you can.

Exhale as you rotate.

Switch arms and repeat on the other side.

Then place both feet back behind you.

Gently stretch your upper torso back.

Then slowly walk your feet toward your hands.

Stand back up in an upright position.

The Couch Stretch is an excellent exercise to simply reduce or eliminate sciatica!

This stretch is excellent especially for students or for those that have a desk job or who may simply, be sitting down for long periods of time, during their day!

By doing the Couch Stretch, it relieves tightness and improves hip mobility, improves overall flexibility, alleviates pain in your back, thighs, and knees.
